What size can I print my image?
Print inches = pixels ÷ PPI. A 2048 × 2048 image prints about 6.8 × 6.8 inches at 300 PPI, or 13.7 × 13.7 inches at 150 PPI. Changing only the DPI metadata does not create new pixels or make the image sharper.
PPI vs DPI
PPI describes image resolution on paper. DPI describes how a printer places ink dots. People often search for “300 DPI image size,” but pixel-to-print calculations use PPI.
